COLD SPRING - Cold Spring is weighing the possibility of a different site for its library.

The library is part of the Great River Regional Library system. Right now the library is located in the city hall building, but because their circulation and programs are growing, they're running out of room.

During the city council meeting on Tuesday night, the Friends of the Library group made a recommendation that the library be moved to the now vacant former First National Bank building.

Karen Pundsack is the interim executive director and associate director of patron services with Great River Regional Library. She says the bank location has been considered by the community in the past.

Cold Spring has been trying to find a new location for the library for the past couple of years. City Administrator Paul Hetland says the council took the recommendation under advisement and placed it on their next meeting agenda on January 27th for further discussion.
