Former Cathedral standout hockey player Austin Poganski decided to forgo his senior season with the Crusaders to join the USHL's Tri City Storm, located in Kearney, Nebraska.

Poganski helped CHS to a 20-8 record last season while leading the team with 47 points (25 goals, 22 assists). He says it was a difficult decision to leave home early:

Poganski still must attend high school while playing for the Storm. He says that it was tough being away from home at first, but figures he had to grow up at some point:

Wearing #11 for Tri-City, Poganski says he immediately saw differences in the style of play, as well as the level of professionalism, moving from the high school level to the USHL:

Leading the Storm with four goals on the season, Poganski was recently selected to play for the United States in the upcoming World Junior A tournament. He says he is very excited to represent his country:

The ultimate goal for Poganski is to take home the Clark Cup as USHL champions:
