Former Benton County Inmate Pleads Guilty To Escape From Federal Custody
MINNEAPOLIS -- A former inmate at the Benton County Jail has pleaded guilty to escaping from custody.
27-year-old Zachary Koehler will spend up five additional years behind bars after admitting he walked away from the jail after being granted a furlough in February. He was arrested about two weeks later in Maplewood.
Koehler was originally convicted for bank robbery and was granted a furlough under the work release program.
A federal judge will ultimately determine Koehler's sentence at a later date.
