Forest Lake Ski Team Involved in Fatal Crash in Northeast Minnesota

CLOQUET (AP) — The Forest Lake Area High School alpine ski team will still compete in Wednesday's state championships at Giants Ridge after being involved in a fatal crash.

None of the team's coaches or students was hurt in the crash Tuesday in Cloquet,  but a passenger in the other car died.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Coach Grant Lindemer was driving a Chevy Suburban north on Minnesota 33 when it struck a southbound Toyota Camry turning to enter northbound Interstate 35.

A passenger in the Camry died. The victim's name has not been released.

The patrol says roads were dry at the time of the 10:15 a.m. crash.
