ST. PAUL  (AP) - Home foreclosure activity is down in Minnesota.

The number of properties with at least one default notice, scheduled auction or bank repossession declined by about 14 percent in the fourth quarter of 2011 compared to the same time in the previous year.

Realtytrac shows there were 7,350 Minnesota properties with a foreclosure filing during the quarter. Realtytrac spokesman Daren Blomquist says more than 70,000 homes have been foreclosed since 2007. He says the Minnesota numbers reflect a downward trend nationwide, but Blomquist expects more foreclosures in 2012.
