SARTELL -- The discussion of whether or not a food truck should be allowed in Sartell was brought for debate at this evenings (Monday) Planning Commission meeting.

The current ordinance allows only ice cream trucks because they don't stay parked for very long.

Anita Rasmussen is the Planning and Community Development Director. She says the topic was brought to the planning commission to hear their thoughts.

Concerns regarding noise, where the trucks can sell and safety were addressed during discussion.

Through further discussion, the planning commission felt having a food truck in Sartell would be good for the community.

Rasmussen says the next step is to draft a new ordinance.

The new ordinance would still need to be approved by the City Council.
