Food Scoring System Implemented at Sartell-St. Stephen
SARTELL - An update to a story we first told you about back in October. Today (Wednesday) is the first day students and staff at Sartell-St. Stephen middle and high schools will notice some numbers next to their food choices.
The NuVal Nutrition Scoring System is being implemented in the a la carte and vending lines. It gives food and drink items a score of 1 to 100; the higher the score, the higher the nutrition.
Sartell-St. Stephen is the first school in Minnesota, and the second in the nation, to offer the scoring system.
