FOLEY - A Foley High school student is hoping to take a step towards competing in the Olympics this weekend.

17-year-old swimmer Kasey Milstroh is competing in the Speedo Sections in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. If she makes an Olympic cut time, she'll have a chance to swim at the Olympic trials in Omaha June 26th through July 3rd.

"I feel really good, I'm really excited and a little nervous but I get nervous for most of my meets. I think I can do it, I think I have a really good chance."

Milstroh was the state champion for Foley High School in the 500 yard freestyle this season. Last year while competing with the YMCA swimming team, she was Minnesota's Swimming state champion in the 100 meter fly and the runner up in the 50 meter freestyle. In her 50 free last summer, she swam a 26.87. To get her trials cut, she needs to get to 26.19.

Milstroh feels good and rested for sections this weekend and has had Olympic dreams for a long time.

"My biggest dream of all is to go to the Olympics. I would love that so much."

Milstroh says she'll try to qualify in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 fly events.
