UNDATED - The St. Cloud Chutes opened play yesterday (Friday) in the American Legion Baseball Division I State Tournament with a loss and a win.

They lost their first game yesterday morning 10 - 0 to Champlin Park. But, the St. Cloud Chutes came back in the afternoon and won 13-6 over St. Francis to stay alive in the double elimination tournament.

The St. Cloud Chutes now play New Ulm Gold this (Saturday) afternoon at 1:00 p.m. If they lose, they'll be eliminated. If they win, they play again at 7:00 p.m. tonight.

Meanwhile, Foley is participating in the American Legion Baseball Division II State Tournament down in Luverne.

Foley won their opening game yesterday (Friday) 2-1 over Osakis, to advance to the semi-finals in this single-elimination tournament.

Foley has a game this (Saturday) evening at 5:00 p.m. versus Plato. If they win, they play for the state title on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. If they lose, they'll play in the third place game on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
