Foley City Council Discusses Possibility of New Pawn Shop [AUDIO]
FOLEY -- Foley city council will be discussing the possibility of a Pawn Shop coming to town during tonight's (Tuesday) city council meeting.
City Administrator Robert Barbian says he's been collecting information on what regulations are needed for a Pawn Shop to set up in the city.
The council is still in the preliminary stages, but a Pawn Shop has mentioned they would be interested in coming to Foley.
Barbian says tonight's discussion will mainly address what regulations are needed for Pawn Shops that the state doesn't already put in place.
Barbian says the city will consider a Moratorium, which would block any Pawn Shop from setting up in the city until regulations have been decided on.
It may last anywhere from three-months to one-year.
