Floyd Dean Zaffke, 80, Princeton

February 2, 1936 - October 27, 2016

Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday November 2, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Princeton, MN for Floyd D. Zaffke who passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton from 5:30 – 7:30 PM and one hour before the service at the Church.. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Princeton. Pastor Paul Brown will officiate.

Floyd was born in Brainerd, MN to the late Aaron Zaffke Sr. and Blanche Bloom Zaffke on February 2, 1936. Floyd married Marcia J. Lucas on October 13, 1973; Marcia preceded him in death on March 9, 1996. Floyd and Marcia spent more than 20 years raising their children on Green Lake where he enjoyed fishing. In the early days, Floyd and Marcia were members of the Mystic Riders and enjoyed snowmobiling and playing in cribbage tournaments. Floyd enjoyed watching the Wild, Vikings and Twins any chance he could. On a rare occasion he would pull out the accordion or play the organ at home and bellow a gospel song in his deep Bass voice. He loved traveling and for several years lived in his Bounder RV. He spent most of the last 20 years in Apache Junction, AZ with Gerry his loving companion. For most of his career, Floyd was in the construction business and a member of the Local 49.

Floyd is survived by his daughters: Jennifer Zaffke-Brueske (Justin) of Becker, MN; Jill Jackson-Gohman (Joseph) of Zimmerman, MN; Jodi Jackson-Halvorson (Lonnie) of Becker, MN; Patricia Zaffke-Gabrick of Hermantown, MN; son Todd Jackson (Randi) of Jordan, MN; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marcia, 7 brothers and sisters.
