November 6, 1917 - December 30, 2014


A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Florence M. Smiglewski who passed away on December 30th at the age of 97 will be held at the Church of St. Paul in St. Cloud on Saturday, January 3, 2014. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to services. Rev. Al Stangl will officiate and inurnment will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Gilman.

Florence was born to George and Frances (Witucki) Smiglewski. She graduated from Foley High School and attended St. Cloud Teachers College. She taught rural schools in both Morrison and Benton Counties. After receiving her four year degree, she spent many joyful years as a Teacher within the Minneapolis Public Schools from which she retired. She was a member of St. Paul’s Christian Women’s Society. She enjoyed traveling and volunteering.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, Leonard, Richard, Alfred; and sister, Valeria Smiglewski. She is survived by her sister; Esther Mastey, of Foley; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials are preferred to St. Clare’s Monastery.
