NEW MUNICH -- Five people were arrested yesterday (Thursday) for their alleged involvement in a counterfeit operation.

The incident happened just before 10:00 a.m. at 141 7th Avenue East in New Munich.

The Stearns County Sheriff's office says a search warrant was used in the home where investigators found several counterfeit bills, electronics, paper products, and other items used in the production and distribution of counterfeit United States currency.

Several residents were found in the home who gave police false names. After further investigation authorities were able to properly identify the suspects.

32-year-old Daniel Peterson, 27-year-old Brittany Jensen, 54-year-old Michael Jensen, 27-year-old Johnanna Avery and 43-year-old Richard Penaz were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
