ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud Church with plans to move to Sartell have put that move on hold.

First United Methodist Church sent letters to members indicating construction on the new 20,500 square foot was on hold after developers of 5th Avenue Live decided against buying the church property.

The letter stated that the sale of the church property at 302 5th Avenue South was a requirement to start construction.

Pastor William Meier wouldn't elaborate on the church's plans moving forward but did say they are looking at all of their options.

First United Methodist plans to build a new church on a 20-acre site along the west side of Pinecone Road. It would be a new 20,500 square-foot facility west of the Coborn’s Superstore.
