Firehouse Subs Coming to Downtown St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD - A new sub shop is opening up in downtown St. Cloud.

Firehouse Subs has signed a lease in the Coborn Plaza along 5th Avenue.  They expect to be open by early July, and will occupy about 1,800 square feet.  They'll hire between 15 and 20 people.

5th Avenue's Brian Schoenborn says this will be just the second Firehouse Sub shop in Minnesota, the first is in Maplewood.  But they are a fast-growing company with over 600 stores nationwide, and another 400 set to open in the next 12 to 18 months.  Owners Jon Smythe and Dave Konshok say they plan to open a second local location within the next year.

Firehouse Subs franchises also build a relationship with local fire, police and  first responders, through their Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
