Fire Crews Called to House Fire in St. Wendel Township
ST. WENDEL TOWNSHIP - A home in St. Wendel Township has been destroyed by fire. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says they received a call at about 8:00 p.m. last (Sunday) night at 11703 County Road 3. The home is owned by 52-year-old Renee Sand of Avon.
There was a fire in the attached garage. The initial report was that the sons of the homeowner were in the garage welding and went inside the home. At some point they heard a 'popping' sound and went back in the garage to find it on fire.
Twenty-three-year-old Morgan Sand burned his hands while trying to move an ATV from the garage.
Fire crews were called back to the home at about 6:30 a.m. this (Monday) with a report that the home itself was now on fire.
