ST. CLOUD -- A fire destroyed a home in northeast St. Cloud early this (Wednesday) morning.

Fire Chief Bill Mund says the fire department was called to the home at 2175 Prospect Drive Northeast just before 1:30 a.m.

By the time crews arrived the garage was fully engulfed in flames.  The fire then spread to the house.

One firefighter was  treated and released from St. Cloud Hospital with a back injury.

Mund says there were three people in the home, they were all able to get out safely.  The family says they just installed in smoke detectors two weeks ago, and they worked to alert them.

The cause of the fire and the total damage estimate is not known yet.
