Fire Crews Respond to Grain Bin Fire Near Albany

ST. CLOUD -  There was a grain bin fire near Albany Saturday morning.  The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the call came in just after 9:00 a.m. for a fire on Viewcrest Road in Krain Township.

The property owner, 66-year-old Earl Felling of Albany, says he checked the grain bin and drying grain and found the bottom portion of the grain on fire.

It is believed the aerator inside the bin stopped working and the grain started burning due to the heater.

No one was hurt.

Freeport Fire Department and Melrose Ambulance assisted the Albany Fire Department.
