Felon Killed After Crashing Harley into Squad Car
WINDOM (AP) - An armed motorcyclist who was fleeing from authorities in southwestern Minnesota was killed when he crashed his Harley head-on into a State Patrol squad.
The patrol said Monday 33-year-old Chad Danneman, of Slayton, was armed with a knife and had fled from Cottonwood and Murray County sheriff's deputies in separate pursuits Saturday.
Trooper Jeffery Stearns spotted Danneman on a county road northwest of Windom and activated his squad lights. The State Patrol says Danneman sped toward the squad and struck in head-on. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Trooper Stearns suffered minor injuries.
Danneman has prior convictions for making terrorist threats, felony drug possession, drunken driving and mistreatment of animals.
