FBI Terrorism Task Force Taking Over Crossroads Investigation
MINNEAPOLIS - Federal authorities are taking over the investigation of the Crossroads Mall attack.
St. Cloud Police are transitioning the case to the FBI, who will continue to investigate if the stabbings were an act of terrorism. The investigation will be directed by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force.
A news release from the FBI says the investigation has been transitioned to them (as is customary) to evaluate the facts and motivation of Dahir Adan behind the incident.
St. Cloud Police will continue to help the FBI in the investigation.
Ten people were hurt in the Saturday night attack before Adan was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer.
Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton said on Monday that President Barack Obama called him to speak about the incident and that the President was briefed on the Saturday attack.
