ST. CLOUD -- Organic farming is becoming more popular worldwide.

Members of the organic farming industry displayed their products at the River's Edge Convention Center for the 14th Annual Organic Growing Conference.

Matt Sattelberg of Everbest Organics says you see many more organic products of the shelves then you did five years ago.

"When you go into your supermarkets you're seeing so many more organic products across the board," says Sattleberg.

Organic products make up about 20 percent of the consumer market.

Sattelberg says his farm switched to organic farming in 2002 and hasn't looked back.

"We saw so many improvements on our soil biology and crop health that we decided this was the direction we wanted to continue with and it's been growing our business," says Sattleberg.

He says while they've had success it took about three years to get there.

"You need to be scouting your fields every day, checking for weeds, bugs, diseases and things like that," says Sattleberg.

There are certain requirements farmers need to call themselves organic mostly in standards.

Sattelberg says that anyone can succeed in organic farming you just need to take that first step.

The conference continues through tomorrow (Saturday).
