ST. CLOUD - Fall enrollment is down at both St. Cloud State University and the St. Cloud Technical and Community College.

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System released their 30-day enrollment figures today (Thursday).

SCSU has just over 17,000 students, about 1,100 fewer than last year, or a 6% decrease.

MnSCU is projecting that next fall SCSU will lose it's status as the largest university in the MnSCU system, and second largest university in the state behind the University of Minnesota.  They are expecting Minnesota State-Mankato to pass SCSU in total enrollment next year.

The St. Cloud Technical and Community College has nearly 4,700 students, about 150 less than last year, or a 3% drop.

Total enrollment for all 32 schools in the MnSCU system is down 1 1/2% at just over 200,000.
