Executive Express Acquires Lakes Express in Brainerd

ST. CLOUD -- A local transportation business will be growing their services.

Executive Express will soon acquire Lakes Express shuttle service out of Brainerd.

President Larry Logeman says they've been in contacted about the business since last summer. He says the acquisition will allow them to provide services to a larger audience.

"For instance we will now provide a stop location in Nisswa or maybe Pequot Lakes. So it clearly gives us an opportunity to extend the Minneapolis Airport even farther north then we have before," says Logeman.

Lakes Express has been in operation since 2005, providing charter transportation, delivery and courier services across the state.

Logeman says the move will include some new staff positions and extending their nightly services.

"We're making changes that will affect our whole company. We're going to add more staff in the over night hours, which will help our current leadership team so they don't have to stay up overnight as much," says Logeman

Executive Express served over 75,000 passengers last year get to and from more than 40 Minnesota towns and 25 Iowa communities.

The acquisition will become official on Wednesday.
