ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) - A former Stearns County deputy who once led the department's Explorer program has been sentenced to two years in prison for violating his terms of release for a sex offense conviction.

Forty-five-year-old Phil Meemken had been on probation since June 2012 after pleading guilty to one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of providing alcohol to a minor.

Meemken was originally charged with 20 counts of proving alcohol to minors and then sexually assaulting them. Two of his alleged victims belonged to the Explorer post. He served about 220 days in prison before his release.

His probation violations reportedly included using marijuana and methamphetamine, possessing pornography, failing to complete sex offender treatment and failing to keep in contact with his probation agent.
