Additional Information

The Women of Color Collective student organization at St. Cloud State University will present “The Voices of the Voiceless” at 7 p.m. April 16-18 in Headley Hall on the St. Cloud State University campus.

“The Voices of the Voiceless” is a performance that features the stories of women of color that give insight into what the world looks like for them. The performance is presented in three acts: Anger, Trauma and Healing.

It includes a collection of poetry, monologues and an excerpt of a play that addresses the multiplicity of issues experienced by women of color. From author Toni Morrison’s prose in “The Bluest Eye” to an examination of Sandra Cisneros’ award-winning novel “The House on Mango Street”, this three-act show will explore the perspectives and voices of women of color through artistic expression.

The performance is led and performed by students from the Women of Color Collective, a student organization with the goal to serve as an outlet where women can come together for holistic socio-cultural discussions.

The St. Cloud State Women’s Center is co-sponsoring the event.
