The American Association of University Women (AAUW) has invited Cathy Mehelich to speak at the monthly meeting, Saturday morning, January 14, 2017 at the Courtyard by Marriott, 404 West Saint Germain Street. The topic is “Economic Development – Developing GREATER Cities to Live, Work, and Play.” Learn about economic development plans for St. Cloud and possible women’s roles.

The public is welcome to attend. Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m. The cost of the full breakfast is $14.00 and includes coffee and tip. Reservations are required and should be made by email to: kathyhuls@charter.net by Jan. 9, 2017. There will be a brief informative meeting before Mehelich’s presentation about St. Cloud branch activities.

The St. Cloud Branch began January 14, 1922 by a group of prominent women who defied tradition by getting a college degree. Recognizable names of the founders include: Mitchell, Whitney, Atwood, Hill, and Barden. AAUW’s enduring mission is to empower women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.
