Making Marriage Work
What makes for a great relationship? That is the question Dr. John Gottman asked when he began his research more than 40 years ago. Instead of studying couples only in therapy, he studied regular couples in the Love Lab. He discovered what couples were doing that made marriages thrive and what they did that harmed relationships. The best of his research has been compiled into a best selling book, Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. This 6 week class will help couples learn about behaviors that harm our relationships as well as the seven principles that help marriages thrive and last. Learn how to manage conflict, deepen your love, share in your partner's dreams and create shared meaning. Included are fun games and couple activities to help learn the concepts and activate the principles in practical ways. Join with others in a 6 week class to learn the foundations of a healthy relationship. This class is for couples who are married, thinking about marriage or are toge ther and wish to discern about marriage. It is for couples who have been married a long time and for those who are just beginning--anyone who wishes to enhance their relationship skills. The class is taught by Pastor Faith Totushek and her husband Dan Totushek. Pastor Faith is a trained Gottman Seven Principles Program Educator.

Save the dates: Wednesday evenings September 19th-October 24th at GRACE UMC, 6:30 to 8:00 pm. $40.00 for 1 book and 2 workbooks. Books can be ordered in Spanish for those who would like them. (an additional book is $10.00, it also comes in audio form for commuters) Childcare is available.
