Annual Moonlight Ski Event

The annual Moonlight Ski event is scheduled for Friday, January 6, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Quarry Park and will go on with or without snow. If there is no snow, the event will be a winter hike along the trail lights.

The Nordic Ski Club of Central Minnesota and the Stearns County Parks Department team up to offer an evening of cross country skiing or winter hiking, fellowship and food at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve, 1802 County Road 137, Waite Park, MN 56387 during the Moonlight Ski event.

A park vehicle sticker is not required during this event.

If there’s snow, skiers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate. The groomed classic and skate cross-country ski trails at Quarry Park provide easy trails with a few moderate hills. The trails are scenic and sheltered from the wind. Evening activities include cross-country skiing or hiking on the 4.2 mile lighted cross country ski trail, an outdoor campfire, a drawing for prizes, as well as sharing hot chocolate, cider, chili, dessert and snacks folks have brought to share in the heated park office building.

Information on the Central Minnesota Youth Ski Club and their youth ski lessons for ages 4 to 14 on Sundays from 1:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Riverside Park starting on January 8, 2017 until March 5, 2017.
Registration costs of $45 per youth skier will be charged through online registration at https://www.mysl.org/registration.
There is an early bird registration discount rate of $40 until December 18, 2016, so register early to take advantage of this discount.

A limited number of free cross-country ski rentals for this event are being provided by Revolution Cycle and Ski (320-251-2453) and Fitzharris Ski and Sport (320-251-2844). These ski shops must be contacted in advance to sign up for the free use of cross-country skis.
