Event To Honor Chief Anderson, Feature 9/11 Survivor

ST. CLOUD - An event Tuesday evening in downtown St. Cloud will honor the city's police chief. The "Light The Legacy" community organization is awarding Chief Blair Anderson with their first-ever "Community Hero Award".

We had already selected him to receive this award, and then when the incident happened at the Crossroads Mall a few weeks ago, and just seeing his poise and his ability to keep everybody calm, it just reaffirmed our choice.

Committee Chair Chad Roggeman the event will also feature keynote speaker Retire Colonel Ryan Yantis, a survivor of the 9/11 Pentagon attack.

He is an amazing fellow, and a wonderful speaker.  There probably won't be a dry eye in the house.  Not only was he at the Pentagon on 9/11, but he's also a cancer survivor.

Light the Legacy has a mission of creating awareness of the importance of Advanced Care Planning, as well as honoring and supporting local first responders.
