Evelyn Botz, 89, St. Cloud

May 10, 1928 - September 8, 2017

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud for Evelyn Botz, age 89 of St. Cloud who passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. Reverend Douglas Liebsch will officiate. A private burial service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Melrose, MN.

Family and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born in Meier Grove, MN on May 10, 1928 to Rose and Clemens Schwegman, and graduated from Sauk Centre High School. She married Neil Botz on June 29, 1948 and lived in Albany, MN until 1975. Evelyn then moved to St. Cloud where she resided for the next 42 years. For the past year, she resided and was in the care of St. Benedict’s Senior Community. She is survived by her only child, Nancy Shipley, of McLean, Virginia, grandchildren, Kathryn Heisman (Reston, VA), Michael Shipley (Nicolette), and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Lynn, of Blacksburg, VA; sisters Lillian Larson (Brooklyn Center, MN) and Sally O’Gara (Mankato, MN); and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Clemens Schwegman, husband, Neil, and siblings Clarence Schwegman; Marina Proell; Don Schwegman; and Ray Schwegman.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Evelyn’s name to either St. Benedict’s Senior Community or St. Croix Hospice.

The family wishes to acknowledge and express their gratitude to the staff and healthcare providers at both St. Benedict’s Senior Community and St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
