Eugene Leonard Then, 84, St. Cloud

August 3, 1931 - April 8, 2016

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Eugene Then, age 84, of St. Cloud, who died Friday at Cherrywood Assisted Living surrounded by his loving wife and children by his side. Rev. Timothy Baltes will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at St. Francis Xavier gathering space and one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church in Sartell. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Eugene was born on August 3, 1931 in Sartell to Joseph & Mary (Traut) Then. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Kedrowski on June 5, 1957 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell. Gene was a Dairy Farmer and lived in the Sartell area all his life. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Gene enjoyed spending time with his family and took pride in each and every one of his children. He always had great stories to share, loved dancing, traveling, taking photographs and riding his 1948 Panhead. He was a kind, honest man with strong morals and values which was a reflection of his many friendships young and old.

Survivors include his loving wife, Phyllis of St. Cloud; children, Joe (Danette) of Randall, LeRoy of Sartell, Judy (James) Woods of Newport News, VA, Brenda Habiger of Sartell, Tammy (Leon) Zierden of St. Stephen, Ron (Tracey Harrison) of Little Falls, Amy Weaver of Rice, Dayna (Kevin) Merten of Walker, Heidi (Joseph) Anderson of Sartell; brother, Jerome (Esther) of Sartell, Donald (Agnes) of Avon; 34 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores Then, an infant sister, Rose Mary and grandsons, Jeremy, Nicholas, Jason and Charlie.
