Eugene F. Lehmeier, 90, Cold Spring

February 15, 1926 – April 24, 2016

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at River of Life Assembly of God Church in Cold Spring, MN for Eugene F. Lehmeier, age 90, who died surrounded by his family on Sunday evening at the Assumption Nursing Home, Cold Spring. Inurnment will be in the MN State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.

Visitation with family and friends will be one hour prior to service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring.

Gene was born in St. Cloud, MN to Roman and Martha (Baron) Lehmeier. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Gene married Doris Carris on August 13, 1949 in St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Cloud. He was an avid outdoorsman and passed his love of nature onto those who knew him.

Survivors include his children, Phyllis (Dwight) Petty, Linda (Mark) Spohn, Janet (Bob) Petro, Ron (Terri) Lehmeier; sisters, Mildred Senezek, Rosemary Wagner, Dorothy Kalla; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris in 2007; brothers, George and Roman Lehmeier.
