Erma Therese Benoit, 94, St. Augusta

December 6, 1920 - March 8, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta for Erma Therese Benoit, age 94 of St. Augusta who passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud. Reverend Jose Edayadiyil and Deacon Kenneth Rosha will officiate. Entombment will take place at the St. Mary Help of Christians Parish Cemetery Mausoleum.

Family and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the parish center in St. Augusta. Arrangements were by the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Erma was born on December 6, 1920 in St. Augusta, Minnesota to Frank and Mary (Knopp) Rosha. She grew up on a farm near St. Augusta. Erma married Harold G. Benoit on July 17, 1941 in St. Cloud. The couple farmed in the St. Augusta area. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Help of Christians Parish and Christian Women.

Erma enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, sewing, embroidering, quilting, cats, dogs and working in her gardens and yard. She also enjoyed dancing and traveling. Erma loved spending time with her family, friends and especially her children and grandchildren.

Erma is survived by her children, Judith (Nick) Finneman of St. Cloud, Lana (Ron) Nornberg of Little Falls, Dawn (Ron) Grossinger of St. Michael, Brian of South Haven, Rebecca (Jack Peterson) Benoit of Cokato and Craig of South Haven; seven grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Estelle Rosha of St. Augusta; and brother-in-law, Louis Benoit of St. Cloud.

Erma was preceded in death by her husband on March 13, 1977; brothers and sisters, Claudine Rosha, Arthur, Walter, Wilfred “Fritz”, Clara Benoit, Norman, and Elizabeth Tresco.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Tri-County Humane Society.
