BEAVER BAY, (AP) - Wind, rain and passing years couldn't knock down a wooden fish house built on Beaver Bay a century ago by hardy Norwegian fishermen, but the end may be near.

The nonprofit Beaver Bay Club wants the fish house removed.

Bonnie Anderson, who owns it with her husband Bruce, says the club is pursuing eviction because the couple haven't paid to lease the land. But she says permission has always been implied.

The club says in its legal filing that the couple have no right to the land.

The case is headed to trial in late August.

Karen Rautio of Silver Bay visited the fish house often as a child. She says it's a Beaver Bay landmark and she'd like to see it preserved.
