ELK RIVER -- Three women were hurt in a crash in Elk River earlier this (Thursday) afternoon.

The state patrol says the incident happened just after 4:00 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 169 and 197th Ave. NW.

Fifty-seven-year-old Pamela Mcrae of Cedar was traveling southbound in the right lane on Highway 169 when she slowed down to turn right onto 197th Ave NW. As Mcrae slowed down she was rear-ended by 48-year-old Tamara Lafare-Straw of Champlin. Lafare-Straw was traveling southbound in the left lane of Highway 169, as she crossed from the left lane to the right lane she struck Mcrae.

Mcrae, Lafare-Straw and Lafare-Straw's passenger 45-year-old Wanda Dahl of Ramsey suffered from non-life threatening injuries.

Mcrae and Dahl were taken to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
