Elizabeth I. Herbst, 88, St. Cloud

September 17, 1928 - April 4, 2017

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, for Elizabeth I. “Betty” Niezgocki-Herbst, age 88, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Gerald Dalseth will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Betty was born on September 17, 1928 to Albert and Grace (Stockford) Wallak in North Dakota. She worked for many years for Lund’s Bakery in Minneapolis. She was an avid flower gardener, who loved to spend every hour of the day tending to her flowers. Her gardens were so well tended that her grand daughter Isabella even had her graduation pictures taken in them. She also loved spending time with her cats Whiskers and Princess.

She is survived by her children, Beverly (Bob) Stavrum, of Clearwater and Ray, of St. Cloud; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Joan (Morris) Reberg, of Sauk Rapids and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Raymond Niezgocki and Richard Herbst; children, Barbara, Robert, Cynthia and Debra; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Kenny Wallak; niece, Laura and nephew, Steven.
