Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 13, 2014 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake for Elizabeth “Betty” J. Janson, 75, of Sauk Rapids who passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Monday. Rev. Thomas Becker will officiate and burial will be at the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday and also one hour prior to services Saturday at the church in Mayhew Lake. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids.

Betty was born on September 23, 1938 in St. Cloud to Roy and Loretta (Jaeckels) Herbst. She was united in marriage to Albert Janson on September 24, 1957 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Foley. Betty was a homemaker and lived in the Mayhew Lake area for most of her life. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake. Betty enjoyed baking, especially cookies, watching Cardinals and other birds and playing the card game, “Dirty Clubs”. She was a very generous, loving and feisty woman who was full of life. Betty’s family meant the world to her and her faith played an important role in her life as well. Her one of a kind spirited personality has touched many and will be cherished and remembered by all that met her.

Survivors include her daughters and sons, Bernie (Lisa) of Sauk Rapids, Jim (Peggy) of Sauk Rapids, Donny (Julie) of Foley, Joanie (Brian) Sullivan of Chester, NH, Patsey (Chuck) Tax of Pierz, Carol (Mike) Posch of Royalton, Scott (Teresa) of Sauk Rapids and Brian (Alex) Janson of New York, NY; brothers and sisters, Richard of Foreston, Jimmy of Monticello, Jeanette Rahm of Foreston, Jan Spiczka of Gilman, and LeRoy, David, Ronny and Duane all of Foley; 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert on October 11, 2005; daughter in law, Kathy; and sister, Lenore Uderman.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester and to Dr. Beth Donnelly and the ICU Staff at the St. Cloud Hospital for the excellent care that was provided to Betty.
