FOLEY -- One of three county commissioner races in Benton County is being challenged this year. Anthony Nies is running against incumbent Warren Peschl in District 1.

Peschl says getting Benton County's taxes down continues to be the top priority. He says they're starting to see some success stories emerge and have hired a private organization to handle economic development and help grow the tax base.

Peschl says he's running for re-election because he cares about Benton County and it's residents.

Candidate Anthony Nies did not respond to numerous requests for an interview.

Benton County's District 1 covers the eastern portion of the county including the cities of Foley and Gilman.
