ST. CLOUD - WJON New is continuing to look at the local races in the upcoming election. Today (Wednesday) is the first of three days focusing on St. Cloud City Council.  First up is the race for Ward 1. It's a match-up of incumbent Dave Masters against newcomer Abdul A. Kulane.

Masters, who has served two terms, says there's a few areas that he's still passionate about.

Meanwhile, Kulane says he's running for city council because he can offer a fresh perspective.

What's The Most Important Issue Facing St. Cloud Right Now?

Masters says the most important issue for him is helping the city's core neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, Kulane says revitalizing the core neighborhoods is also his top issue.

How Do You Think You Can Make A Difference?

Masters says one of his biggest strengths is that he has the ability to network, and work with several neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, Kulane says he's ready to represent the Ward, because he's been a longtime St. Cloud resident, and knows what the residents are concerned about.

St. Cloud's Ward 1 includes the downtown area and much of the central part of the city.
