Eleanor Sobiech, 96, St. Cloud

January 26, 1920 - January 22, 2017

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mrs. Claudie (Eleanor) Sobiech, age 96, of St. Cloud will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 27, 2017, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in North Prairie, Minnesota. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass on Friday at the Church. Eleanor passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Eleanor was born on January 26, 1920 in Opole, Minnesota to Thomas and Catherine (Warzecha) Fautsch. She married Claudie Sobiech on September 24, 1940 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Opole. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter in St. Cloud. Eleanor was also a member of the Opole Post Auxiliary Catholic War Veterans, North Prairie Christian Mothers and Rosary Society.

Eleanor was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed baking cakes, cooking, gardening, farming, playing cards, dancing, and having her home full of family and friends. She was always kind, welcoming, generous and helped everyone one that she could.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter Ann Marie and her husband Bill Surma, grandchildren Angie (Scott) Helmbrecht and Jenny (Andy) Self, great-grandchildren Abigail Helmbrecht and Christopher Self, brother Roman Fautsch, and sister Esther Parkos.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Claudie on April 6, 1976, her parents, sisters Delores Working and Lucille Marsolek, and brothers Emerence and Eddie Fautsch.
