Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015 at Celebration Lutheran Church in Sartell for Eleanor R. Pring, age 96, who passed away Sunday, Nov. 15 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Elizabeth Strenge will officiate and burial will be in the Appleton Cemetery in Appleton, MN. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church in Sartell.

Eleanor Ruth Pring was born on November 2, 1919 at her grandparent’s farm in Parnell Township, Traverse County to J.C. (Clarence) and Julia Hanson Dehlin. She was baptized on November 30, 1919 and confirmed on June 30, 1935 at Siloah Lutheran church. She attended Wheaton High School and graduated in 1937 after which she took a special bookkeeping course at West Central School of Agriculture in Morris. In the fall and winter of 1937-1938, she attended the University of Minnesota St. Paul campus, majoring in Home Economics and worked summers as a 4H club agent in Anoka County.

Eleanor was united in marriage Nov. 8, 1941 to Orville L. Pring at Siloah Lutheran Church. To this union two children were born, Orleigh and Gayle. In 1946, they moved to Appleton and joined Zion Lutheran Church. In 1998, they moved to Madison and joined Faith Lutheran Church. She stayed in Madison after Orville died in April 1999. In 2014, she moved to Country Manor in Sartell, MN and joined Celebration Lutheran Church with her daughter (Gayle) and son-in-law (Dan).

Eleanor was very active in the church and the community. She was President of the Zion LCW and VFW Auxiliary and taught Sunday and Wednesday school. She was an admirer of butterflies and flowers and liked to sew, knit, and craft. She was very talented at growing violets, house plants, and outdoor floral gardens. Eleanor liked to travel and took numerous vacations to various destinations in the US and Europe with Orville. They also spent many winters visiting the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. Most of all she treasured spending time with her family and loved all the special hugs.

Survived by brother, Les Dehlin; daughter, Gayle Beiningen (Dan); and son, Orleigh Pring (Kay); 6 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville; sister, Clarice; and many other family and friends.
