Eldon D. Petersen, 81, Sartell

June 15, 1933 – May 30, 2015

Eldon D. Petersen, age 81, of Sartell, MN passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Sartell, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Private family burial will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Eldon was born on June 15, 1933 in Ivanhoe, MN to Peter and Anna (Anderson) Petersen. He was married to Marlene Risch on May 24, 1953 in Elkton, S.D. Eldon was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler, and golfer. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Marlene; brother, Darrell (Shirley) Petersen of Ivanhoe, MN; children, Dean Petersen of Minnetonka, MN, Brenda (Gary) LaValley of Elk River, MN and Cindy (Paul) Mihalko of Elk River, MN; grandchildren, Tania (Bob) Durheim of Stacy, MN and Sara Mihalko of Elk River, MN; and great-grandson, Jake Durheim.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son and brother, Larry Petersen.
