Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Elaine M. Lechner, age 90 of St. Cloud who passed away on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at her daughter’s home. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. on Friday all at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Elaine was born on November 27, 1925 in Brooten, Minnesota to Edward and Annamarie (Mertens) Hoefer. She married Harold “Hap” Lechner on August 19, 1947 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kimball. Elaine was a homemaker all of her life, working also as a seamstress, teaching quilting classes, and catering. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and Christian Women, and the Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428 Auxiliary.

Elaine enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, traveling, World War II history, and family genealogy. She treasured all the time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Chris) of Plymouth, Bruce (Marlys) of St. Michael, Annamarie Denti of Brainerd, Janet Svaleson of Farmington, John (Lisa) of Clearwater, Pam (Glen) Ertl of St. Augusta, Paula (Bob) Dockendorf of Monticello; son-in- Law, John Blaszak of Foley; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and sister, Donna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 1998; daughter, Bonnie in 2012; and son-in-law Ron in 2014.
