Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Elaine A. Imholte, age 94, of St. Cloud who passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. Reverend David Grundman will officiate. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. A family lead prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Elaine was born on September 1, 1922 in Fairmount, North Dakota to Albert and Stella (Rassier) Sauter. She married Andrew Imholte on September 12, 1946 in Fairmount, North Dakota. Elaine was a Registered Nurse at the St. Cloud Veterans Affairs Hospital and later a homemaker. She was a member of both St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and the Christian Women.

Elaine volunteered at the St. Joseph Lab School, Women’s Guild, and Catholic Charities. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, cards, dancing, and especially music. Elaine was known for her fried/baked chicken and chocolate cake. She always treasured time spent with her family, showing hospitality to all those who entered her home.

She is survived by her children, Frank (Peggy) of St. Cloud, Paul (Karen) of St. Cloud, Joelle of St. Paul, Arnie (Jane) of Madison, WI, daughter-in-law, Lynn Imholte (Mark Schwinghammer) of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Andy (Jessica), Katie (Fiancé, Erich Gabriel), Joe (Jennifer), Michael, John, Owen (Fiancée Robin Wilson), William, AJ, Christopher, Phil, Marie, and Tom Imholte; four great-grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Andrew; son, Glenn; and siblings, Johnny, Clarence, Joan Mary, Rita, Phyllis and Leah.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Benedict Homes for the loving care given to Elaine over the past five years.
