Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Eileen E. Wenner, age 79, who died peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will continue from 9:00-10:30 a.m., Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

Eileen was born in St. Nicholas, MN to Anton and Ermalinda (Dockendorf) Schreifels. She attended high school at St. Boniface in Cold Spring. Following high school, she pursued a career in radiologic technology. She worked in that capacity at the St. Cloud Hospital until 1965. Eileen was united in marriage to her life partner of 57 years, Raymond “Dick” Wenner, on September 13, 1958 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Cold Spring. They made Richmond their home and raised four daughters there. Eileen did bookkeeping at Wenner’s Plumbing & Heating for many years and later worked as a real estate agent. Eileen volunteered with the area Meals On Wheels Program for 35 years. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Christian Women, and the St Anne’s Mission Group.

Eileen loved to golf and spend time with her many groups of friends. She loved cooking, gardening, travel and family gatherings. Anyone who knew her would agree she had a real zest for life and great sense of humor. She was a strong and wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, woman. She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dick; daughters, Kelly (Chris) Johnson, Kris (Doug) Petermeier, Karin (Don) Walz, Kaye (Todd) Cunningham; Sister: Lynn (Mark) Vogt: 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim and infant son, Paul.
