Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas, MN for Edward “Ed” Weismann, age 90, who died Wednesday at Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial with full military honors will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph Men’s Society. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Ed was born in Cold Spring to Henry I. and Mary E. (Schmitt) Weismann. Ed was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater. He worked as a purchasing agent at the Cold Spring Granite Company for 26 years. Ed was a pigeon fancier and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Men’s Society, Cold Spring VFW and American Legion. He was also a Charter Member of Cold Spring Area Maennerchor.

Survivors include his siblings, Herbert, Ralph (Ann Louise), James (Mary Jane), Donald (Karen), and Ronald; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leander; sisters, Rosina, Genevieve, Marcella, and Monica.
