Edward James “Jim” Hill, 93, St. Cloud

October 24, 1921 - April 3, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM Wednesday April 8, 2015 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Jim Hill, 93, of St. Cloud who died Friday at the St. Benedict’s Care Center in St. Cloud. The Rev. Aaron Nett will officiate and entombment will be at a later date in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8PM Tuesday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and 1 hour prior to services Wednsday at the church in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be prayed at 4:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.

Jim was born October 24, 1921 in St. Wendel to Edward and Rose (Ruf) Hill. He married the love of his life Lorraine Bromenschenkel on July 3, 1954 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Jim and Lorraine did everything together and often lovingly showed their affection for one another. Jim walked proudly in his faith often praying the rosary. He is a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud and volunteered to serve breakfast with the men’s club. Jim was a farmer, carpenter, and custodian for the St. Cloud School District until his retirement. He stayed busy with woodworking and building small projects. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his children, Katherine (David) Husby of Cumberland, WI, Joan (Gary) Schmitt of Clear Lake, Joyce (Jesse) Drach of Huntsville, AL, Timothy of Lakeville, Anne Hill (Gary Markfort) of St. Cloud, and Robert of St. Cloud, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Lorraine on August 20, 2014; brothers, Francis, Herbert, Leo; sisters, Stella Grady, Elizabeth Loso, Hilda Labadie and Esther Hedekin.
