Funeral services will be at 10AM Monday, April 4, 2016 at Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud for Edward “Ed” P. Peterson, 78, of St. Cloud who passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Duane Semmler will officiate and burial will be in Knife Lake Cemetery, Mora. Visitation will be from 4-8PM on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at church on Monday.

Ed was born November 24,1937 in Braham to Marvin and Bernice “Bonnie” (Hanson) Peterson. He served his country proudly in the National Guard for six years. Ed proposed to the love of his life, Judith Berulson, while traveling to a football game between Braham and Mora. Mora may have lost the football game, but Ed won Judi’s heart and the couple was married on September 13, 1958 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora. Ed worked for various companies over the years; Pan-O-Gold, Deli Express, Tombstone Pizza, and most recently for Parson’s Electric as a buyer until his retirement in 2004. Ed enjoyed traveling, fishing, and supporting his teams (Twins, Packers, Gophers, and Lynx). However, Ed’s favorite hobby was manicuring his lawn and enjoying the fresh air while doing yard work. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke it was words well worth listening to. Most importantly, family meant the world to Ed and his witty sense of humor and contagious smile will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Judi of St. Cloud; children, Dean (Robyn) of Sartell, Pamela (Charles) Dalool of Sauk Rapids; Greg (Paula) of St. Cloud, Patti (Brad Aanstad) Peterson of St. Cloud; sister, Elaine Soberg of New Brighton; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ed’s family would like to thank the nurses, Respiratory Therepists, and the entire staff at the St. Cloud Hospital for their care and compassion for Ed and his family.
