Edmund Anthony Ebensteiner, 83, Cold Spring

August 14, 1931 - January 2, 2015

Edmund Anthony Ebensteiner was born on August 14, 1931 in Albany to John and Johanna (Lesser) Ebensteiner. He was united in marriage to Doreen Garding on June 9, 1959 in St. Martin. Edmund moved to Eden Valley in 1971 and prior to that he lived in Albany on the home farm. He worked as a dairy farmer for 42 years, a seed dealer and corn salesman for over 30 years and also worked as an insurance agent for Paynesville Mutual for over 30 years. After retiring from the farm he also worked at Teal’s Grocery in Cold Spring. Edmund was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley and was involved with the Knights of Columbus #3628 of Albany and was also an usher. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, puzzles and visiting with others. He was a very hard worker and had the world’s best smile. Eddie was easy going, loved spending time with his family, bowling, trapping and gardening. His farm was his pride and joy.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Doreen of Cold Spring; children, Pam (Jeff) Pelzer of Cold Spring and Kevin Ebensteiner of Annandale; granddaughter, Ashley Smith of St. Joseph; sisters, Genny Locnikar of Albany, Doreen Hodel of Sauk Rapids and Evelyn (Mark) Thelen of Albany; and many nieces and nephews. Edmund was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dolores Thelen; brothers, Albin and Anthony; and son, Thomas on May 22, 1993.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Father Dick Gross for the prayers and services, thanks to relatives and friends for all your support while Eddie was ill, and to all who helped in any way and assisted in his care.
