ST. CLOUD - The new east-side St. Cloud Kwik Trip has its grand opening on Tuesday.

Dozens of Kwik Trip staff and city leaders held a ribbon cutting ceremony in the early afternoon. The store is at 1230 Highway 23 East.

Kwik Trip CEO Don Zietlow met with employees at the store and says they will be opening up seven more locations in the St. Cloud metro in the near future. Two more Kwik Trips are being built in St. Cloud. They're also coming to St. Joseph, Sauk Rapids and Sartell. If all goes well, it's likely even more Kwik Trips will come to the area.

"We think the market will support more than that, there's a lot of opportunities in your market, we will have more stores here," Zietlow says.

Zietlow says Kwik Trip emphasizes having friendly employees, a fresh grocery selection and clean stores. About 40 people will work at each Kwik Trip location.

"So if we build eight stores that's 320 co-workers, I would see us adding that this year for the stores that are open and for the stores that are opening."

At the end of the ceremony, Kwik Trip also donated $1,000 to the St. Cloud Fire Department and St. Cloud Salvation Army as part of their community outreach efforts.
